A law firm based in Plainville is seeking a dedicated Foreclosure Associate Attorney to join their team. This position involves overseeing and managing the foreclosure process in the State of Vermont. The Foreclosure Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the foreclosure process in Vermont, including drafting and reviewing documentation, representing mortgage lenders and/or services, and providing legal counsel to clients.

 

Duties:

  • Oversee and collaborate with support staff to draft and review all documentation necessary for judicial mortgage foreclosure in Vermont.
  • Handle related matters such as debt disputes, defense to counterclaims, and actions to enjoin foreclosure.
  • Manage all stages of the foreclosure process from demand to recording of foreclosure deeds.
  • Represent the interests of mortgage lenders and/or servicers throughout the foreclosure process.
  • Review all statutorily required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare and respond to written inquiries or disputes efficiently and effectively.
  • Attend and argue motions and other hearings before the courts.
  • Participate in mediation sessions related to foreclosure proceedings.
  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel to foreclosure clients and maintain close communication throughout the process.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the State of Vermont is required; admission in other New England states is advantageous.
  • Must be admitted in Vermont or willing to waive into Vermont.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
