A law firm is seeking an OSHA Of Counsel for their New York City office. The candidate will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support to clients on workplace safety and health compliance requirements, particularly related to OSHA regulations.

 

Job Overview:

The OSHA Of Counsel will support clients in navigating workplace safety and health compliance requirements, manage litigation matters related to OSHA regulations, and provide crisis management assistance as needed.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal guidance and support to clients on workplace safety and health compliance requirements, focusing on OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate with business partners on environmental and workplace safety compliance.
  • Manage outside counsel and vendors on global EH&S issues and develop programmatic opportunities to address risks.
  • Develop relationships with regulatory agencies, defend practices within appropriate boundaries, and influence policy development.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation related to workplace safety and discrimination matters per OSHA regulations.
  • Represent clients in informal conferences, settlement negotiations, and defensive litigation of citations.
  • Provide crisis management assistance to clients dealing with workplace safety and health matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA accredited law school with exceptional academic credentials.
  • Class action or public sector experience is a plus.
  • Admission to the New York Bar with "active" status required.
  • Supervisory experience is a must.
  • First and/or second chair trial experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar with "active" status.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle litigation matters effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a team environment.

 

Experience: 8+ years of employment litigation experience preferred; OSHA experience required.
