## Job Description

As a Tax Senior, you will be responsible for identifying eligible federal C&I generating activities and managing and facilitating the analysis and documentation of such opportunities. You will work with an experienced and passionate team in a growing area, proactively collaborating with colleagues across all member firms – Tax, Advisory, Consulting, and Audit and Assurance. Responsibilities will include:

- Managing federal credits and incentives opportunities including Research and Development tax credit/deduction analyses, New Markets Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, Sustainability and Renewable Energy tax credits, and other federal credit incentive service offerings
- Delivering value to clients by identifying opportunities and advising clients on potential benefit and eligibility requirements
- Maintaining and developing strong internal and client relationships
- Leveraging technical skills developed through your growing reputation in a given industry/service offering to solve complex issues
- Demonstrating sound judgement and instincts with respect to evaluating complex scenarios involving various credits and incentives opportunities
- Developing, mentoring, and motivating Consultants, providing counseling and career guidance
- Identifying potential issues and proposing solutions to leadership, as well as implementing process improvement strategies
- Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables, which may include presentation decks, executive summaries, credit calculations, completed tax forms, supporting files, memoranda, and IRS audit responses
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments and working with the team to present potential opportunities to assist clients

## Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or related field, as well as 3+ years' experience in a related field. Proven knowledge of R&D tax incentives experience and/or experience with New Markets Tax Credits, Qualified Opportunity Zones, or Renewable Energy tax credits is also required. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to collaborate and proactively develop internal and external working relationships, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to travel up to 25%, on average. One of the following accreditations must also be obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain: Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA, Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, Project Management Professional (PMP), Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), or Professional Engineer.

Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM, experience with tax technical research (., CCH, Hein, Lexis, RIA, etc.), experience with Federal or State and Local C&I, experience with sustainability technologies or environmental sciences, and previous Big 4 or large CPA or law firm experience.

## Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,570 to $151,580. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
