Job Overview:

  • Provide legal representation to clients in workers' compensation cases.
  • Assist in all aspects of case management, including client communication and court appearances.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents related to workers' compensation claims.

 

Duties:

  • Handle a caseload of workers' compensation matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct client interviews and gather relevant case information.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and depositions.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and the Workers' Compensation Commission.
  • Assist with settlement negotiations and trial preparation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate or better from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
  • 1-5 years of experience in workers' compensation law preferred.
  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Must be licensed to practice law in South Carolina.

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures.
  • Legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Case management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
