A law firm is currently in search of a highly skilled and experienced Trusts & Estates Attorney to join its legal team. In this pivotal role, the selected candidate will assume the responsibility of providing expert legal counsel and guidance to clients dealing with trusts, estates, and wealth planning matters. This attorney's expertise will be instrumental in aiding clients in the effective management of their assets, strategic planning for the future, and navigating the intricate landscape of legal and financial considerations. Among the core responsibilities associated with this position are client consultations, wherein the attorney will meet with clients to gain a deep understanding of their unique financial situations, goals, and objectives. Additionally, the role entails developing comprehensive estate plans that encompass wills, trusts, and various legal instruments designed to protect and allocate assets in accordance with clients' preferences. The attorney will also be tasked with the management and oversight of trust administration, ensuring strict compliance with legal requirements and client directives. Furthermore, this role encompasses assisting clients in navigating probate proceedings, which may include representing them in court as necessary and providing expert advice on estate tax, gift tax, and income tax matters to help minimize tax liabilities. Implementing strategies to shield clients' assets from potential creditors and other risks is another critical aspect of the position. The attorney will also counsel clients on the selection of beneficiaries, guardians, and trustees, taking into account unique family dynamics and financial goals. Preparing a variety of legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives, is a key component of the role. To qualify for this position, candidates must hold a Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school, possess an active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, and have a minimum of 1-6 years of experience in trusts and estates law along with a portable business. Additional qualifications include a strong knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to trusts, estates, and taxation; exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; meticulous attention to detail; strong organizational skills, a client-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, and the utmost discretion and capability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
