A law firm in Newark is actively seeking a Transactional Real Estate Attorney with a focus on commercial real estate financing, leasing, and acquisitions. The ideal candidate should be barred in New Jersey and New York (or able to become barred in one), with a minimum of 4 years of transactional real estate experience. Experience with redevelopment work in New Jersey is considered an additional bonus.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on commercial real estate financing matters, with a focus on the borrower side.
  • Handle commercial leasing transactions, representing both landlords and tenants.
  • Assist in acquisitions and dispositions, including purchase and sale agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and due diligence for real estate transactions.
  • Advise clients on legal issues related to redevelopment work in New Jersey.
  • Draft and negotiate real estate-related contracts and agreements.
  • Collaborate with clients, senior attorneys, and support staff.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Barred in New Jersey and New York (or able to become Barred in one).
  • 4+ years of transactional real estate experience with a private firm.
  • Significant experience with commercial real estate financing (preferably borrower side).
  • Significant experience with commercial leasing (landlord and tenant side).
  • Experience with acquisitions and dispositions considered a bonus.
  • Experience with redevelopment work in New Jersey considered an additional bonus.

 

Skills:

  • Significant experience in commercial real estate financing and leasing.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Legal research and due diligence skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a legal team.
