Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney for its Chicago, IL office. The primary responsibilities will involve working with experts, assisting with fact development and depositions, reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda, and helping develop case strategy.

Duties:

  • Work with experts to gather necessary information and evidence.
  • Assisted in fact development and participated in depositions.
  • Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Help develop case strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables and respond to correspondence promptly.
  • Meet deadlines and perform work duties efficiently and accurately.
  • Foster positive work relationships within the firm and with external stakeholders.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer for extended periods, participating in virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as required.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • . degree from a nationally recognized law school.
  • 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Bar admission in Illinois.
  • Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience.
  • Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Experience with product liability and/or complex commercial litigation preferred.
  • A science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) is required.
  • Experience with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry and clients is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

Education & Certifications:

  • . degree from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Bar admission in Illinois.
