A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level or Senior Insurance Recovery Associate Attorney for their New York City, NY location. The ideal candidate will have:

Job Overview:

  • Mid-level or senior position in insurance recovery law, requiring at least 5 years of insurance litigation experience.
  • The candidate should have extensive experience in insurance litigation, coverage analyses, drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, preparing injunction papers, managing e-discovery, handling discovery disputes, and conducting depositions.
  • The role involves litigating in both state and federal courts, with the expectation to lead several matters.
  • Strong academic credentials, exceptional writing and research skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are essential.

Duties:

  • Handle insurance recovery cases independently or in collaboration with other attorneys.
  • Prepare coverage analyses, pleadings, dispositive motions, and injunction papers.
  • Manage e-discovery process and handle discovery disputes.
  • Conduct depositions and defend clients during depositions.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding insurance matters.
  • Research and stay updated on insurance laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar (additional state admissions considered a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of insurance litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Extensive experience litigating in both state and federal courts.
  • Proven track record of handling insurance recovery cases from inception to resolution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
  • Additional State Bar admissions are considered advantageous.
