A law firm in Champaign is currently seeking an Attorney with 0-10 years of civil rights experience. The ideal candidate should possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and have an active State of Illinois and/or Missouri Law license in good standing. The Attorney will play a crucial role in handling civil rights cases for the law firm. This position requires a deep understanding of civil rights laws, strong advocacy skills, and the ability to provide legal representation for clients involved in civil rights matters.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis specific to civil rights cases.
• Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and negotiations related to civil rights issues.
• Collaborate with clients, activists, and other legal professionals to build a compelling case.
• Advocate for clients in matters such as discrimination, police misconduct, and other civil rights violations.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on civil rights matters.
• Stay updated on changes in civil rights laws and precedents.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• Active State of Illinois and/or Missouri Law license in good standing.
• 0-10 years of experience in civil rights law.
• In-depth knowledge of civil rights laws and regulations.
• Strong advocacy and litigation skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
