A law firm in New York City is seeking an experienced Energy and Infrastructure Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join its dynamic Energy and Infrastructure practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing a diverse clientele in the energy sector, including financial institutions, commodity trading companies, energy marketers, project developers, and investors. The position requires expertise in project finance, securitization of energy assets, and negotiation and documentation of various transactions related to conventional and renewable energy, environmental products, and natural gas.

 

Duties:

  • Represent financial institutions, commodity trading companies, energy marketers, project developers, and investors in the energy sector.
  • Handle a variety of physical and financial transactions, emphasizing energy transition.
  • Negotiate and document structured transactions, hedging, offtake, and other trading arrangements for conventional and renewable electricity, environmental products, and natural gas.
  • Be conversant with credit and security documentation.
  • Act as a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Take on substantial roles in project management and be comfortable with client interaction.

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of experience in Energy and Infrastructure practice.
  • Experience in project finance and securitization of energy assets.
  • Familiarity with standard master agreements in the energy and commodities trading industry, including ISDA, its physical annexes, EEI, and NAESB.
  • Admitted to practice law in NY

 

Skills:
