A law firm in Plantation, FL, is seeking a Mid-level Construction and Public Contracts Associate Attorney to represent construction clients in all aspects of their businesses, including bid protests, claim preparation and presentation, negotiations, mediations, litigation, and appeals. The ideal candidate will have experience with e-discovery and litigating various types of construction disputes, with a focus on delay and disruption claims, payment disputes, and breach of contract claims. Admission to the Florida Bar is required.
Duties:
• Represent construction clients in bid protests, claim preparation and presentation, negotiations, mediations, litigation, and appeals.
• Handle e-discovery matters related to construction cases.
• Litigate various types of construction disputes, including delay and disruption claims, payment disputes, and breach of contract claims.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions.
• Prepare for arbitrations, mediations, and trial.
• Collaborate with a larger team to achieve client goals.
Requirements:
• Admission to the Florida Bar.
• 2-4 years of experience in construction law.
• Experience in taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and preparing for arbitrations, mediations, and trial.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
Education and Certifications:
• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
Skills:
• Litigation experience in construction law.
• Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
• Knowledge of e-discovery processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
