The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience and a background in matters relating to the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, including registered funds employing alternative investment strategies such as interval funds, tender offer funds, and BDCs, as well as registered advisers.

Job Overview:

  • Support the Investment Management team with legal matters related to investment funds and advisers.
  • Engage in direct client contact and demonstrate business development acumen.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing fund offering documents, agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Participate in client meetings and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on developments in investment management laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment management law.
  • Outstanding academic credentials and comparable law firm experience.
  • Relevant Bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly) in the jurisdiction of practice.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal matters independently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Relevant Bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).

Skills:
