Job Overview: A law firm in Troy, MI, is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications integral to clients' global patent and intellectual property strategies. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to conduct freedom-to-operate and landscape analysis and gain exposure to preparing patentability, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions.

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute intricate patent applications in line with clients' global patent and IP strategies.
• Conduct freedom-to-operate and landscape analysis to assess clients' patent positions.
• Prepare patentability, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their technology and IP needs.
• Conduct legal research, including case law, statutes, and regulations, to support clients' patent matters.
• Assist with patent litigation and support senior attorneys in various legal matters.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in patent law, with a focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• A technical background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Admission to the Michigan Bar.
• Admission to the . Patent Bar.
• Excellent academic credentials are required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Bachelors or advanced degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Michigan Bar.
• Admission to the . Patent Bar.

Skills:
