A law firm in Columbia, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney or Of Counsel with 2-10 years of experience in complex commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have a federal clerkship background, distinguished academic credentials, superior writing and analytical capabilities, and experience in Electronic Discovery and federal court writing.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal support and counsel in complex commercial litigation cases.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing on various aspects of litigation matters.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents for federal court litigation.
  • Participate in all phases of the litigation process, including discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals.
  • Have meaningful involvement in ongoing litigation cases on a national scale.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and clients to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Manage and coordinate with external vendors for Electronic Discovery processes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.

 

Requirements:

  • Federal clerkship background preferred.
  • Distinguished academic credentials with superior writing and analytical capabilities.
  • 2-10 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
  • Valid law license in good standing.
  • Experience in Electronic Discovery and federal court writing highly desirable.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Valid law license in good standing.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Discovery processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
