A law firm is seeking a skilled Medical Malpractice Attorney for their New York City office. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in evaluating and managing plaintiff-side medical malpractice matters.

Job Overview:

The Medical Malpractice Attorney will primarily handle plaintiff-side medical malpractice cases. They should possess strong analytical, research, and writing skills and proficiency in pleading, motion, and discovery practice.

Duties:

• Evaluate and investigate potential medical malpractice cases
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel or insurance companies
• Communicate effectively with clients, medical experts, and other parties involved in the case
• Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends in medical malpractice litigation

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience handling medical malpractice matters
• Admission to the New York State Bar
• Proactive, self-driven, and creative approach to problem-solving
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing
