As a Manager at PwC, you will be responsible for managing a team of tax professionals to provide state and local tax services to clients. You will work with a variety of clients to help them navigate complex state and local tax laws, identify opportunities for tax savings, and ensure compliance with applicable tax rules and regulations. You will also have the opportunity to develop and maintain relationships with clients, provide guidance and advice on tax planning and strategy, and lead teams in delivering high-quality tax services. This role requires a strong understanding of state and local tax laws, as well as the ability to manage and develop a team of professionals. Job Title: State & Local Tax Manager Salary: Competitive, based on experience Experience: Minimum 4 years experience in state and local tax Key Responsibilities: • Manage a team of tax professionals to provide state and local tax services to clients • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing guidance and advice on tax planning and strategy • Identify opportunities for tax savings and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations • Lead teams in delivering high-quality tax services • Stay up-to-date on changes in state and local tax laws and regulations Key Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 4 years experience in state and local tax • CPA, Member of the Bar, or other relevant tax, technology, or finance credentials • Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws, including income tax planning, compliance, and audit defense • Experience in FAS 109, unitary filing, apportionment methodologies, and tax research • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships • Ability to manage and develop a team, providing timely and meaningful feedback • Familiarity with CRM systems and alternative fee arrangements is preferred • Experience with automation and digitization tools is a plus As a Manager at PwC, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and help them navigate the complex world of state and local tax laws.
