A law firm in Houston is seeking an accomplished Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience in energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, expertise in handling regulatory matters before energy regulatory commissions, and experience with entities such as ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs in organized power markets.

 

Job Details:

  • Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.
  • Manage matters involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs and organized power markets.
  • Provide expertise in advocacy before state utility commissions.
  • Work on power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
  • Utilize strong academic background to provide legal strategies and courses of action.
  • Exhibit superior judgment in handling multiple projects.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Maintain an active Bar license in the state.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience preferred.
  • Active Bar license in the state.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:

  • Expertise in energy regulatory matters and compliance.
  • Experience with regulatory matters before state energy commissions.
  • Knowledge of ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs and organized power markets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Superior judgment and ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
