A law firm in Silver Spring, MD is seeking an Immigration Attorney with a demonstrated interest in immigration law and a commitment to providing exceptional legal services to clients. The ideal candidate will have excellent legal skills, including research and writing abilities, and the ability to handle a significant caseload independently. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on immigration matters.
  • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documents with various government agencies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Monitor immigration policy and regulatory changes and provide guidance on compliance.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure efficient and effective representation of clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients.
  • Handle a significant caseload and meet minimum case completion metrics.
  • Conduct consultations for potential new clients and assess their immigration needs.
  • Work closely with paralegals through case processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in the Bar of any state and ability to practice before the immigration court and USCIS.
  • 2 years of immigration experience, ideally with removal defense.
  • 3 years of experience in drafting/writing legal documents.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
