Legal Services of Northern Virginia (LSNV) is currently seeking a full-time Ryan White Staff Attorney to join our dedicated team. This hybrid position is based in Virginia and provides advice and representation to persons living with HIV/AIDS in all areas of practice within LSNV priorities. Limited statewide travel is required. Position: Ryan White Staff Attorney at Legal Services of Northern Virginia (LSNV) Salary: $65,000-$74,000 per year Experience: Must be licensed with the Virginia State Bar, or have two years of practice in another state (LAC Rule 1A:9). Interest in working with clients of every sexual orientation and gender, living with HIV/AIDS, required. Commitment to social justice, racial justice, and/or public interest work, strongly preferred. Experience in community engagement and advocacy, strongly preferred. Litigation experience, preferred. Legal aid experience, preferred. Multi-lingual (verbal and written), preferred. Essential Functions: - Conducts client interviews to address any legal issues and determine level of services to be provided. - Travels to various LSNV offices, community partner agencies, and outreach events to meet with clients. - Develops and maintains relationships with other community-based organizations that assist individuals living with HIV/AIDS. - Presents educational presentations to Ryan White agencies, other community-based organizations, medical and housing case workers, and/or consumers regarding the program and services that are provided to those living with HIV/AIDS. - Ensures that the program and LSNV services are in compliance with all grant rules and regulations with special attention given to HIPAA requirements. - Provides support for grantor reporting process on behalf of LSNV. - Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: - Must be licensed with the Virginia State Bar, or have two years of practice in another state (LAC Rule 1A:9). - Interest in working with clients of every sexual orientation and gender, living with HIV/AIDS, required. - Commitment to social justice, racial justice, and/or public interest work, strongly preferred. - Experience in community engagement and advocacy, strongly preferred. - Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. - Litigation experience, preferred. - Legal aid experience, preferred. - Multi-lingual (verbal and written), preferred. Travel: Limited statewide travel is required. Compensation: Starting salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, based on legal aid pay scale ($65,000-$74,000 per year).
