A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney for its New York City, NY office.

Job Overview:

The Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney will handle various business litigation matters in State and/or Federal Courts. The ideal candidate should possess strong writing and research skills, demonstrate proficiency in oral argument, and have experience in depositions.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of business litigation matters in State and/or Federal Courts.
  • Conducted legal research and drafted legal memoranda, pleadings, and motions.
  • Prepare for and participate in oral arguments.
  • Assisted in all discovery phases, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and conducting depositions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and execution.
  • Stay abreast of legal developments relevant to assigned cases.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of business litigation experience in State and/or Federal Courts.
  • Securities Arbitration experience is preferred, including handling regulatory inquiries/investigations.
  • Strong writing and research skills.
  • Experience in oral argument.
  • First or second chair experience in depositions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's caseload effectively.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar (or ability to waive into New York).

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
