Alkegen, a global leader in specialty materials, is seeking a driven and experienced Associate General Counsel to join their legal team. This role will report to the Senior Vice President & General Counsel and will be responsible for mitigating legal, regulatory, and business risks to protect the company's reputation and interests. The ideal candidate will have a background in a respected law firm and in-house counsel experience in a global industrial or manufacturing business.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of legal matters and provide guidance to business unit leaders and other personnel on legal and regulatory issues. You will also have the chance to manage compliance programs, handle contract negotiations, and assist with mergers and acquisitions. We are looking for a versatile and business-oriented legal counsel with excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Job Requirements:

- BA/BS and JD degree required from an accredited institution
- Member of at least one state bar
- 7-10 years of law firm and significant in-house experience at a manufacturing company
- Generalist background in corporate matters, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, intellectual property, and litigation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience presenting to internal and external executives
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks
- Career training in a respected law firm followed by in-house counsel experience in a global manufacturing company preferred
- Familiarity with legal compliance and regulatory laws in corporate and environmental settings
- Experience in corporate business transactions

Responsibilities:

- Review, negotiate, and draft non-routine contracts with strategic significance
- Manage the company's compliance program, compliance line, and administration of policies and procedures
- Conduct training on the company's code of ethics and business conduct
- Provide legal advice to the HR department on employment agreements, labor negotiations, and other employment issues
- Manage the company's insurance portfolio
- Advise on privacy and data security issues
- Assist with mergers and acquisitions, including contract negotiations
- Direct outside counsel and manage legal budget
- Provide legal advice on financial reporting matters
- Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to business unit leaders and other personnel
