A law firm is seeking a Healthcare Litigation Partner in Roseland, NJ, with the following responsibilities, requirements, and qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Healthcare Litigation Partner will lead healthcare litigation proceedings, counsel clients on regulatory compliance and represent them in court. They will also oversee junior attorneys, manage matters from initiation to resolution, and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, conduct discovery and responses, motions, briefs, etc., for healthcare litigation cases.
  • Provide legal advice to clients on their rights and obligations under relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and execute legal strategies for healthcare litigation matters.
  • Keep abreast of changes in healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Manage healthcare matters from commencement to final resolution.
  • Backup support other business units, such as Employment Law and Banking and Financial Services.
  • Identify legal and compliance issues and business risks and offer effective solutions.
  • Review regulatory analyses by junior attorneys.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • NJ Bar is required; NY admission is preferred; otherwise, it must be obtained.
  • 7 years of legal experience with a primary focus on healthcare litigation.
  • Prior experience as a healthcare-centric prosecutor (former Deputy Attorney General).
  • 7 years of Healthcare, Commercial Litigation, and White-Collar Defense experience, including experience as a medical board litigation ;
  • Experience advising clients on telemedicine, Medicare/Medicaid fraud, and health reform issues.
  • Knowledge of general commercial and healthcare law (HIPAA, Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act, state regulations, etc.), Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and compliance issues, or managed care and health insurance regulatory matters.
  • Familiarity with confidentiality, informed consent, and bioethical issues.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly motivated with unquestionable integrity and ethics.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and digestible manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptable nature to reassess and adjust due to evolving business needs.
