Job Overview: A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Associate Attorney to provide comprehensive legal counsel to venture capital investors and emerging companies. The ideal candidate will have corporate transactional experience and a passion for working with start-ups and growth companies.

Duties:

  • Counsel venture capital investors and emerging companies on all legal aspects, including entity formation, operational matters, and significant transactions.
  • Lead or assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating transaction documents.
  • Help establish and nurture client relationships within the legal and business community.
  • Handle corporate transactional and securities-related matters such as M&A, private equity, joint ventures, and investment funds.
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in corporate transactional work.
  • JD from a top law school with outstanding academic credentials.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
  • Previous experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Eagerness to contribute to a growing firm and take ownership of projects.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation.
  • Strong legal and business judgment with the ability to work closely with clients.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Familiarity with NVCA forms is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
