A law firm in Albany, NY, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney. The attorney will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the litigation process, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, attending court hearings, and participating in trials. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, legal advocacy, and writing skills, with a preference for Federal Court experience.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on various issues related to ongoing cases.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in case management, including organizing and maintaining case files.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Participate in trial preparation and strategy sessions.
  • Handle legal correspondence and inquiries as directed by senior attorneys.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in litigation.
  • Admitted to the New York Bar.
  • Strong communication, legal advocacy, and writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Federal Court experience preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admitted to the New York State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office suite.
