Job Title: Trial Attorney/Staff Counsel

Experience: Demonstrated litigation experience

Primary Accountabilities:

- Provide legal representation for moderately complex litigation involving the corporation and/or its insured
- Analyze files and evaluate cases to seek settlement
- Conduct discovery and motion practice
- Draft pleadings, papers, and briefs
- Advocate for client position in all forums
- Stay current on state statutes and court decisions
- May specialize in areas such as special property, workers' compensation, environmental law, or commercial coverage

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

- Experience providing customer-driven solutions
- Experience with civil pleadings, motions, and depositions
- Solid knowledge of Professional Responsibility rules
- Solid knowledge of tort, contract, and insurance law

Licenses:

- Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission within a year of hiring
- Juris Doctor degree

Travel Requirements: Up to 50%

Physical Requirements: Work involves sitting/standing
