A law firm based in Powell, OH, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Supervising Immigration Court Attorney to help establish and lead a growing court program, dedicated to serving a nationwide client base primarily consisting of Spanish-speaking undocumented immigrants. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and managing a high-volume, nationwide immigration court practice, overseeing a team of attorneys and legal support staff.

Duties:

  • Establish and lead a nationwide court program to serve primarily Spanish-speaking undocumented immigrants.
  • Work with operational-focused attorneys and staff to develop procedures, processes, and best practices for the immigration court team.
  • Manage and supervise a team of attorneys and paralegals, setting goals and managing workloads.
  • Oversee the development of templates for legal briefs and drafts to be used as foundations for immigration court filings.
  • Train and supervise the team to ensure adherence to procedures and best practices.
  • Collect and report team data, progress, and needs to legal team leadership.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings and draft/edit legal documents.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contract attorneys for nationwide coverage.
  • Stay informed about legislative, regulatory, administrative, and case law changes relevant to immigration court proceedings.
  • Some travel may be required to various offices for team training and supervision.

Requirements:

  • . degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • An active member in good standing of a State Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience in immigration court and removal proceedings with filing experience with EOIR.
  • 2+ years of experience in managing others.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English.
  • Experience managing and motivating a team of attorneys and legal support staff in a positive and collaborative environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with a State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of immigration law and court procedures.
