Job Overview:

The Estate Planning and Probate Attorney will be responsible for providing effective representation to clients, including communication, drafting and reviewing estate planning and transaction documents, conducting research (including tax research), and maintaining significant client contact. The ideal candidate should possess at least 2+ years of relevant experience, an excellent academic background, and strong communication skills.

Duties:

• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their estate planning and probate needs.
• Draft and review various estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
• Conduct thorough research on legal issues related to estate planning, including tax implications.
• Represent clients in probate proceedings, including court appearances and negotiations with opposing parties.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and documentation.
• Provide guidance and advice to clients on matters related to estate administration and asset distribution.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar of Wisconsin.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience practicing estate planning and probate law.
• Strong academic background with a focus on estate planning and taxation coursework preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of Wisconsin.
