A law firm in Coral Gables is seeking a highly experienced Senior Federal Employment Law Attorney with expertise in federal employment-related and class action litigation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of federal agency proceedings and possess exceptional analytical, communication, and advocacy skills.

 

Duties:

  • Develop comprehensive case assessments outlining strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations for litigation or settlement.
  • Gather evidence to support the Government's defense in employment-related cases.
  • Prepare witnesses for testimony at hearings and assist in developing defense strategies.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including preparing and responding to discovery motions, examining and cross-examining witnesses, presenting evidence, and making closing arguments.
  • Draft post-trial legal briefs, conduct legal research, and compose legal documents.
  • Prepare for potential appeals and recommend appeals or compliance alternatives as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements, including EEOC Initial Orders, MSPB Acknowledgement Orders, and USDA regulations.
  • Maintain an active . Bar license and necessary security clearance throughout employment.

 

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in federal employment-related and class action litigation.
  • Experience working in federal agencies such as MSPB, FLRA, OSC, or FSGB preferred.
  • Previous experience with the EEOC as an attorney or Administrative Judge is highly desirable.
  • Active . Bar license in good standing in any jurisdiction.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Necessary security clearance for the role.
