Houston office of our client seeks a foreign legal counsel with 1-year of experience. The candidate will advise clients in foreign legal matters pursuant the civil law legal system; counsel clients regarding cross border transactions pursuant the civil law legal system; advise clients regarding suitability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits in civil law jurisdictions; analyze statutes, decision and regulations of judicial, and quasi-judicial bodies to determine its applicability to multinational transactions; interpret and analyze the applicability of foreign law rulings and regulations to . Corporations; prepare memoranda summarizing opinions and recommendations regarding applicability of . laws and regulations to proposed foreign transactions; analyze the probable outcomes of legal proceedings in civil law jurisdictions using knowledge of legal precedents; produce comparative analyses between the civil and common law systems in preparation for presentation of cases; produce legal opinions on interpretation of civil law rulings, and regulations to support . attorneys on foreign civil law matters; research laws, court decisions, statutes, legal articles, and other regulations coming from specific civil law countries; keep abreast of changes in the law, investigate facts, and search pertinent sources of law to determine probable causes of action in civil law countries.
