A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking a skilled Family Lawyer to join their team. The ideal candidate will handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, alimony, and domestic violence cases. The role requires excellent legal expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate emotionally charged situations with professionalism.

 

Job Duties:

  • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases.
  • Analyze client situations, understand their needs, and develop strategic plans of action to solve legal problems effectively.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date client files to ensure efficient case management.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings as necessary, advocating for their interests and rights.
  • Divide marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when required.
  • Prepare legal documents related to prenuptial agreements, divorce initiation and finalization, alimony, child support/custody, relocation, and other family law matters.
  • Handle legal issues such as child abuse, adoption, and domestic violence, providing compassionate and effective legal representation.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a legal background and . degree from an accredited law school.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a law firm on family law issues, as well as experience in real estate to determine marital property.
  • 3+ years of family law litigation experience, including trials, mediation, and arbitration.
  • Membership in the Florida Bar is mandatory.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, especially in stressful and emotional situations.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Empathy and understanding when dealing with sensitive family law matters.
  • Confidence and professionalism in courtroom settings.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
