A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is actively seeking a Junior Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney with 1-2 years of experience. The ideal candidates will possess strong academic credentials, superior writing ability, and USPTO admission. While an electrical engineering degree is preferred, candidates with degrees in physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering and relevant experience in medical devices or wireless communications/networking are encouraged to apply. State Bar admission in the jurisdiction of practice, preferably in Pennsylvania or the District of Columbia, or eligibility to waive-in, is also necessary.

Duties:

• Engage in patent prosecution activities, including drafting and filing patent applications.
• Collaborate with inventors and legal teams to understand and assess inventions.
• Conduct legal research to support patent prosecution strategies.
• Assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications before the USPTO.
• Evaluate and respond to office actions and other communications from the USPTO.
• Provide technical expertise in electrical engineering, physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering, with a focus on medical devices or wireless communications/networking.
• Collaborate with senior patent professionals in the development and execution of patent strategies.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• Ideal candidates will have an electrical engineering degree; candidates with physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering degrees and relevant experience are encouraged.
• Strong academic credentials.

• USPTO admission required.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering.
