The candidate will be responsible for: Handling the bureau’s complex and sensitive cases from investigation through grand jury presentation. All aspects of trial preparation, including compliance with discovery obligations. Handling significant legal and factual issues during suppression hearings. Prosecuting both jury and nonjury trials to conclusion. Treating family members who have suffered the ultimate loss with kindness and compassion. Must possess a . degree, be an active member of the New York State bar in good standing and have 8+ years of . experience. Must have substantial felony jury trial experience with cases involving serious violent crimes. Should have extensive experience in handling all aspects of criminal investigation and prosecution. Must have experience examining and cross-examining forensic experts in various disciplines, including ballistics, fingerprints, DNA, crime scene and medical and mental health issues. Must have excellent writing skills. Should have extensive knowledge of New York Penal and Criminal Procedure Laws. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
