BDO, a leading accounting and advisory organization, is seeking an International Tax Associate to join our team in San Francisco for the summer of 2025. Responsibilities:

- Utilize tax research skills to provide international tax advice to clients
- Develop work plans for assigned clients
- Stay updated on daily tax law and client factual developments
- Coordinate with BDO colleagues in over 160 countries to align US tax rules with foreign tax law for client transactions
- Specialize in one or more areas of international tax
- Conduct research and prepare Written Tax Advice (WTA) on international tax and cross-border transactions
- Assist in obtaining required client information for international tax compliance forms and reporting
- Gain a basic understanding of tax compliance and controversy procedures
- Utilize tax research databases and software
- Develop a basic understanding of ASC 740-10 as it applies to international tax issues
- Adhere to Firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or another business-related major
- ., LLM, and/or MST/MBT preferred
- Previous internship experience in a professional services firm preferred
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with tax research databases and software
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Familiarity with general calculations and taxable conditions
- Strong legal writing background and understanding of the IRAC method of analysis

Salary Information:

- California Range: $65,000 - $110,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $76,000 - $110,000
- Washington Range: $65,000 - $110,000
