Summary:

The Claims Specialist for Management Liability at AXIS Capital is responsible for handling primary and excess claims related to Public and Private D&O, Financial Institutions, and Private Equity. They will be expected to independently manage a portfolio of middle-market claims, analyze insurance coverage issues, and communicate with clients and outside counsel. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and at least 2 years of experience in either a law firm or insurance company. This is a full-time position with the opportunity for remote work and a competitive salary and benefits package.

Position Summary (H1):

Join AXIS Capital as a Claims Specialist for Management Liability, responsible for handling primary and excess claims for Public and Private D&O, Financial Institutions, and Private Equity.

Responsibilities (H2):

• Independently manage a portfolio of middle-market claims, including analyzing insurance coverage issues and drafting coverage position letters.
• Investigate liability and damages issues and maintain documentation.
• Evaluate claims and make reserve recommendations.
• Attend mediations and negotiate claim resolutions.
• Assign and supervise outside counsel.
• Maintain relationships with insureds, brokers, and outside counsel.
• Communicate with senior management on large losses and industry trends.
• Represent AXIS in the marketplace and assist underwriting as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to brokers and insureds.
• Analyze claims to support metrics and trends.
• Participate in special projects and department initiatives.
• Provide best-in-class claims service.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Salary Information (H2):

• New York, NY: $110,000-$160,000
• Short Hills, NJ: $85,000-$150,000
• Los Angeles, CA: $85,000-$150,000
• Chicago, IL: $80,000-$135,000
• Alpharetta, GA: $70,000-$125,000

*Specific salary offer will be based on experience and location.
