A law firm in Portland is seeking a dedicated Land Use Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join the Real Estate and Natural Resources Department. The candidate will contribute to the Land Use practice and should demonstrate a strong commitment to client service, excellent academic credentials, and effective communication and teamwork skills. Admission to the Oregon State Bar or eligibility for reciprocity is required for this position.

 

Duties:

  • Support the Land Use practice within the Real Estate and Natural Resources Department.
  • Draft land use applications and other relevant legal documents.
  • Represent clients at public hearings.
  • Conduct research and review developmental feasibility for land use matters.
  • Prepare appellate briefings related to land use cases.
  • Demonstrate ownership of projects and work independently within a team-oriented setting.
  • Contribute to business development efforts in the real estate/construction and/or natural resources industry.
  • Provide legal counsel on real estate and environmental law matters as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience with land use matters.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for reciprocity.
  • Practice experience in real estate and/or environmental law matters (considered in lieu of land use experience).
  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references.
  • Strong research, analysis, writing, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and ability to work independently.
  • Interest in business development in the real estate/construction and/or natural resources industry.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for reciprocity.

 

Skills:

  • Land use application drafting.
  • Appearance at public hearings.
