About the Role:
- Director of Benefits Assistance at CED Law
- Launching new program to assist eligible clients in accessing public benefits
- Focused on federal disability income support, SNAP, and tax benefits
- Seeking attorney with experience in handling SSI and SSDI benefits appeals
- Responsible for designing and implementing program
- Will manage a team and directly supervise Head of Firm
- Must reside in Colorado and be licensed with good standing in Colorado State Bar

Key Responsibilities:
- Build first-of-its kind program in Colorado for benefits enrollment and appeals
- Lead CEDP's Benefits Assistance legal team
- Work with leadership team to expand services for clients
- Develop tools and systems for high-quality legal services
- Review case-related documents and provide feedback
- Create training materials for attorneys, paralegals, and enrollment specialists
- Develop intake channels to reach eligible Coloradans
- Identify and manage referral and service partner relationships
- Coordinate with CEDP to track and report based on grant requirements
- Collaborate with partners across organization to serve clients effectively

Position Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience litigating SSI and SSDI appeals
- Overall 5+ years of experience as practicing attorney
- Licensed and in good standing with Colorado State Bar
- Demonstrated history of building new programs
- Ability to manage a substantial caseload and supervise less experienced attorneys and paralegals
- Passion for social and racial justice
- Willingness to prioritize client and community needs
- Ability to travel within Denver Metro area and surrounding suburbs
- Proven ability to excel in hybrid work environment

Additional Details:
- Competitive salary of $90,000-$97,500 per year
- Full-time, salaried position with benefits package and 401k
- Applications reviewed on rolling basis until March 6, 2024
- Estimated time to complete recruitment process by March 12, 2024
- In-person work frequently required, current vaccination status required
