A law firm in Coral Gables is seeking a Federal Employment Law Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience in complex federal employment-related litigation matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support, including case assessment, evidence gathering, witness preparation, and legal brief drafting, with a focus on maintaining compliance with relevant legal requirements.

 

Duties:

  • Develop detailed case assessments outlining strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations for litigation or settlement.
  • Gather evidence to support the Government's defense in federal employment-related cases.
  • Prepare witnesses to testify at hearings and assist in developing defense strategies.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including responding to discovery motions, delivering opening statements, examining and cross-examining witnesses, presenting evidence, and making closing arguments.
  • Draft post-trial legal briefs, conduct legal research, and compose legal documents as required.
  • Prepare for potential appeals and recommend appeals or compliance alternatives as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements, including EEOC Initial Orders, MSPB Acknowledgement Orders, and USDA regulations.
  • Maintain an active . Bar license in good standing and necessary security clearance throughout employment.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in complex federal employment-related litigation matters.
  • Previous superior experience with the EEOC, preferably as a former EEOC attorney.
  • Active . Bar license in good standing in any jurisdiction.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Necessary security clearance for the role.
