A law firm is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate Attorney for its New York office. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of patent litigation experience and a background in electrical or mechanical engineering, with a preference for a BSEE/BSME degree. Additional experience in trademark and/or copyright litigation is advantageous. The candidate should possess a strong academic background, excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Bar admission is required for this position. Provide legal representation to clients in patent litigation matters.

Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and execution. Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.

 

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of patent litigation cases, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Take and/or defend depositions.
  • Write briefs and conduct oral motion practice before the courts.
  • Assist in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of patent litigation experience.
  • Background in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • BSEE/BSME degree preferred.
  • Additional experience in trademark and/or copyright litigation is a plus.
  • Bar admission required.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission to practice law in NY.

 

Skills:
