Duties:

  • Draft trusts, wills, healthcare directives, and powers of attorney for clients.
  • Possess basic knowledge of applicable estate and gift taxes.
  • Proficient in estate administration procedures, including preparation of probate papers, estate tax returns, review of fiduciary income tax returns, and settlement of financial accountings.
  • Provide legal advice on the establishment, operation, and dissolution of non-profit organizations.
  • Collaborate with clients and senior attorneys to develop comprehensive estate plans.
  • Stay updated on changes in trust and estate laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client cases.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in trust and estates at a reputable firm or bank.
  • Admitted to the New York State Bar; admissions in New Jersey and/or Connecticut are a plus.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in estate planning and administration procedures.
