Summary:

BDO is seeking a Tax Managing Director for their Private Client Services Practice in Philadelphia, PA. This individual will be responsible for providing tax compliance and consulting services to high net-worth clients, as well as acting as a critical member of the office/region leadership team. The Tax Managing Director will also have supervisory responsibilities, including managing workload and providing performance feedback to associates, senior associates, and managers.

Job Title: Tax Managing Director, Private Client Services
Experience: 10+ years in accounting, finance, or law
Salary: $115,000 - $325,000 (depending on qualifications, experience, and geography)

Key Responsibilities:

Leads tax and consulting engagements, identifying and addressing client needs while teaching team members necessary skills
Acts as primary client contact, presenting and resolving issues
Reviews complex tax returns and provides feedback to preparers
Communicates with government agencies for complex matters
Conducts tax research and develops recommendations for clients and advisors
Expands understanding of tax concepts and current developments
Prioritizes and reviews work to keep engagements on track
Utilizes strong analytical, research, and decision-making skills to assist with client needs
Assists with firm responsibilities, such as billing and recruiting
Builds and maintains relationships with BDO professionals and external sources

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics (Master’s degree preferred)
10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or law
Expertise in private client services
Prior supervisory experience
CPA, EA, or Attorney credentials (or equivalent)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with tax compliance process software and research tools
