The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate a solid track record, having successfully facilitated at least 10 portable closings each month, and will possess extensive experience in titles and real estate closings.

As part of their responsibilities, the chosen candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough legal research, due diligence, and comprehensive title examinations for a variety of commercial real estate transactions. Their role will also involve the drafting, review, and negotiation of intricate contracts, purchase agreements, and leases. In addition, the Associate Attorney will play a pivotal role in representing clients throughout the entirety of commercial real estate closings, ensuring that all legal prerequisites are met with precision and diligence. They will also be responsible for providing expert legal counsel on complex zoning, land use, and environmental matters that may arise in the context of commercial real estate transactions. Collaborating closely with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders involved in these transactions, the successful candidate will be instrumental in facilitating a seamless closing process and will subsequently handle post-closing responsibilities such as document recording and resolution of any post-closing issues.

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school and hold an active license to practice law in the state of Massachusetts. The firm is specifically looking for candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney, focusing primarily on commercial real estate law. Furthermore, applicants should demonstrate a proven history of performing title examinations and successfully closing a variety of commercial real estate transactions. A deep understanding of Massachusetts real estate regulations, zoning laws, and land use policies is essential. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, along with a high level of attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities, are highly valued. Candidates should be able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Additionally, active membership in the Massachusetts State Bar Association or an equivalent bar association is required. Proficiency in legal research and analysis, expertise in contract drafting and negotiation, familiarity with real estate title software and databases, and strong interpersonal skills for client relationship building are all important qualifications for this role. The ability to manage multiple closings simultaneously within specified timeframes is also essential.
