Austin office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an associate attorney with 3 years of experience handling family law cases (non-negotiable). The candidate will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. Will be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff. Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals. Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice. Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients. Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used in proceedings and contract negotiations. Advanced knowledge of computer technology and the Internet (MS Word and Excel) and the ability to learn new programs easily are essential. Must be an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA). Should have completion of a Juris Doctor (. degree) from an accredited law school. Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients.
