A law firm in Boston is seeking an accomplished Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience in energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission, state energy regulatory commissions, and entities such as the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.

 

Job Details:

  • Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission.
  • Experience with matters involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
  • Advocate before state utility commissions and involvement in power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
  • Demonstrate strong academic credentials and a superior academic record.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and possess superior judgment.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently and articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
  • Hold an active Bar license in the state.
  • Provide legal counsel on regulatory and compliance matters related to energy.
  • Advocate before regulatory bodies, including the Texas Public Utility Commission.
  • Handle power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and power sales.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to articulate and implement legal strategies.

 

Requirements:

Active Bar license in the state.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Experience:

4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience.

 

Skills:

  • Experience with regulatory matters before state energy commissions.
  • Strong understanding of Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Superior judgment and ability to articulate legal strategies.
