A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with extensive civil litigation experience to handle a diverse range of cases for nationwide clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.

 

Duties:

  • Handle various civil litigation matters including personal injury, trucking/auto accidents, commercial construction defect liability, products and premises liability, among others
  • Draft, prepare, and manage pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda
  • Conduct thorough legal research and efficiently draft responses to written discovery and dispositive motions
  • Prepare for and conduct depositions of parties and experts
  • Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and provide status report correspondence
  • Assist in mediations and court appearances, as well as attend informal and formal hearings at the Workers' Compensation Commission
  • Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and staff

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • 10 years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on handling various types of cases
  • Licensed to practice in Texas courts; additional court admissions preferred

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Attention to detail with exceptional organization and prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation
