Introduction

Deloitte is seeking a strategic and creative tax manager to join their Business Tax Services (Insurance Industry) practice. This role involves leading teams to solve complex federal tax issues, developing client relationships, and providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to clients in the insurance and financial services industries.

Position Summary

As a Tax Manager within the Business Tax Services Insurance group, you will be responsible for providing federal tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. This includes maintaining and developing strong client relationships, overseeing complex tax compliance and consulting projects, and providing leadership and guidance to the engagement team. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other service lines and peers to address tax issues and stay updated on industry trends and developments.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and develop client relationships within the insurance industry
- Oversee complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects for various entities and their affiliates
- Manage engagement team resources and billing, while providing leadership and career guidance
- Consult with other service lines to address tax issues and meet organizational objectives
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments
- Deliver professional and timely services to clients

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in federal taxation
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Experience managing client relationships and engagement teams
- Strong knowledge of tax code and regulations
- Technologically inclined with the ability to simplify complex tax issues
- Active accreditation such as CPA, attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP
- Advanced degree and previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience preferred
- Proficiency with SSAP 101 and experience in the insurance industry is a plus

The disclosed range estimate does not include any geographic differentials and is subject to change based on individual circumstances.
