A law firm in Cleveland is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 5-7 years of experience in Corporate Business and Transactional Law. The candidate will be responsible for conducting legal research drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and discovery requests and responses. They will also take and defend depositions, assist in trial preparation, draft settlement agreements, and develop cases through factual investigation. First-chair trial experience is a plus. The Litigation Attorney will actively contribute to the financial success of the firm, promote professionalism, collegiality, and diversity, deliver excellent customer service, and engage in business development. The candidate should possess strong organizational, writing, and analytical skills and will also serve as a resource for less experienced Junior Associates.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and discovery requests and responses
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Assist in trial preparation and draft settlement agreements
  • Develop cases through factual investigation
  • Contribute to the financial success of the firm
  • Promote professionalism, collegiality, and diversity
  • Deliver excellent customer service and quick follow-up
  • Prepare correspondence, contracts, and other legal documents
  • Monitor routine to complex corporate legal matters and formulate the next course of action
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations and provide authoritative legal advice
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced Junior Associates
  • Engage in business development and amplify firm services to new and prospective clients
  • Represent and promote the firm within the community and at public, social, and business gatherings
  • Assign and review the work of support staff, as required

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Juris Doctorate
  • Admission to the Ohio Bar
  • 5-7 years of experience in Corporate Business and Transactional Law
