This program is designed to provide an opportunity to gain an understanding of the operations of the court system and to observe the day-to-day activities of the court. ##Benefits of Legal Internships The legal internships offered by the Wisconsin Court System offer a unique opportunity for law students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the court system. Interns will gain invaluable experience in the court system, as well as an appreciation of the important role that the courts play in the legal system. In addition to the practical experience, interns will also enjoy a summer in Wisconsin where the weather is wonderful and recreational opportunities abound. ##Application Process The application deadline for the 2024 Volunteer Summer Law Student Internship Program is January 31, 2024. The application requires basic personal information, including name, law school, current address, telephone, email address, and permanent address. Additionally, the application requires applicants to provide the dates they are available for the internship, the location they prefer (see the attached map), and their preferred court assignment and interests. Applications must be sent to by the application deadline. Note that all correspondence, including notification of an internship placement, will occur via email. ##Credits Students are encouraged to check with their law school to see if credits are available for completing these internships.
