The Hanover is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join our team in Northern California on a remote basis. This is a full-time, exempt position with in-person board appearances as needed. As a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney, you will be responsible for managing and resolving cases from start to finish, including dismissals, settlements, and trials. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of litigation experience, as well as strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills. Job Title:

- Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney (Remote)

Experience Information:

- Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience
- Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR required
- Admitted to the bar and licensed to practice law in assigned jurisdictions

Responsibilities:

- Manage a caseload of Workers’ Compensation cases
- Meet with clients and claims professionals to resolve cases efficiently
- Develop theories and affirmative defenses
- Engage in motion practice, discovery, and research
- Handle depositions, hearings, conferences, and trials
- Travel to boards as needed

Desired Skills and Experience:

- Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word, Lexis/Westlaw, and email/calendar management
- Ability to work in a team environment with other attorneys, adjusters, and claims professionals
- Strong investigative and legal research skills
- Familiarity with courtroom procedures and conduct
- Dedication to providing top-quality service to clients and claims professionals

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

- Ability to use a personal computer and standard office equipment
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and travel as necessary
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods
