A law firm is seeking a Patent Agent to join their team in Las Vegas. The Patent Agent will play a key role in assisting patent attorneys with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Working closely with inventors, the candidate will contribute to the identification of patentable inventions, conduct research on current patented technologies, and draft patent applications with the support of the patent team. This role involves tracking the patent application process, completing ability searches regularly, responding to office actions, and maintaining consistent communication with the . Patent and Trademark Office. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, preferably in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science. USPTO Registration is required, and candidates with 2+ years of experience are preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Assist patent attorneys in preparing and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Collaborate with inventors on newly created products.
  • Identify patentable inventions and conduct relevant research.
  • Draft patent applications with support from the patent team.
  • Track the patent application process from initiation to granted patent.
  • Complete ability searches regularly.
  • Respond to office actions and correspond with the . Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Meet billable hour requirements consistently.
  • Solve client challenges and respond to client needs.
  • Provide suggestions and identify issues in day-to-day problem-solving.
  • Share information and keep the team informed about progress and problems.
  • Give positive and constructive feedback to peers and train new employees.
  • Attend required training and willingly accept planned changes.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the team, understanding team goals and values.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Firm's values, including Diversity and Inclusion values.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
  • Preferably have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • USPTO Registration is required.
