Job Overview:

The Business Immigration Associate Attorney will provide expert legal counsel and support to clients in immigration matters. They will develop case strategies, conduct research, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure client satisfaction and compliance with immigration laws.

Duties:

  • Develop an expert-level understanding of the client base, support industries, and the firm’s practice areas.
  • Formulate case strategies through research, drafting, reviewing, and counseling clients.
  • Identify and resolve escalations and areas of underperformance.
  • Regularly communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural processing issues and case strategy.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status.
  • Collaborate with global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for government submission.
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents based on established precedents.
  • Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
  • Proactively communicate with clients within SLAs/team protocols, providing precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized responses.
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support projects.
  • Supervise junior Associates and other staff, providing mentoring and coaching in immigration knowledge and expertise.
  • Seek and implement opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and implement guidance and direction from supervisors and experienced colleagues.
  • Use firm technology accurately, ensuring accurate and complete data entry.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and firmwide activities.
  • Ensure adherence to firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • . JD or LLM required.
  • Membership of a US State Bar is required.
  • 8 years of experience needed.
  • Expanded practical understanding of immigration law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
